Meet Marisa S.! She participated in The Beachbody Challenge and won the $500 Daily Prize for October 21st!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
Prior to starting my journey with Beachbody, I knew I was not fit or very healthy even though I was going to the gym 5 – 6 days a week. I’ve worked out in a gym before, and had a few trainers over the years, but I found that when I wasn’t being told exactly what to do, I wouldn’t put in the same effort. If a machine at the gym was being used or there were too many people, I’d use it as an excuse to go home and be done with my workout. I was maintaining my weight, but I wasn’t seeing any results. I felt like I was wasting money on a membership that I was using, but not effectively. Prior to starting my first program, I was at my all time highest weight of 136 pounds. It was mostly fat, belly fat.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I was introduced to TurboFire by my current Beachbody Coach. I was at a birthday party when we were discussing her transformation and what programs she had done because we were both passionate about working out. She mentioned TurboFire to me because it’s what she used to get started. She was in the same position I was…working out, but not seeing any results. At first, I was apprehensive. But, my Coach encouraged me to come over and try the program. I instantly fell in love with everything about TurboFire. When I was nearly finished TurboFire and saw my results, I couldn’t wait to do another Beachbody program. So, I purchased INSANITY before I even completed TurboFire. My results with INSANITY were just as wonderful. With that, I became addicted to working out. I have since completed P90X3, 21 Day Fix, and PiYo.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
Before starting PiYo my biggest challenge was flexibility. Even though I did the yoga and pilates workouts in P90X3 and 21 Day Fix, I still wasn’t where I wanted to be in ability to do certain moves/ hold certain poses. PiYo and Chalene helped me train my body to push limits and become more flexible.

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
Since I started using Beachbody programs back in April of 2013, I set a goal to reach 115 pounds. I completed 4 programs. While I saw amazing results and changes in my body, I still wasn’t reaching that magic number. Even though I was losing weight, I was starting to feel discouraged. Finally, while doing PiYo, not only did I reach my goal, but I also surpassed it by over 2 lbs! Weight loss is not the only goal I’ve reached over the last 18 months. I’ve built more muscle and have defined my arms, legs, and abs. I’ve also increased my flexibility and stamina. My eating habits have changed and so has my whole lifestyle.

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I’ve officially completed five Beachbody programs, and became a Beachbody Coach. I also became a certified Turbo Kick instructor. I used to workout because I thought it was necessary, but now, I do it because it’s fun and the best way to relieve stress. I’ve also become a “morning person” since the only time I can routinely schedule my workouts is before work at 4:15am. It’s amazing how much you can do to change your life and your body all before the sun comes up. I still have energy to get through the rest of the day!
