Meet Zoe F.! She participated in The Beachbody Challenge and won the $500 Daily Prize for September 5th!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
All my life I was overweight. In middle school, my mom took me to Weight Watchers, but after I lost some weight I stopped going and gained it back. In high school, I tried different programs, but I always gained the weight back. At my heaviest weight, I was 287 pounds. I was not confident. When I entered a room, sometimes I would look around to see how many overweight people were there. I could never do anything active like play kickball at a picnic or run around with my younger cousins.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
My motivation was that I wanted to be healthy. I was tired of not being able to do everything I wanted because of my weight. I was about to graduate from high school and go to college, so I decided it was the best time for me to take control of my health.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
The biggest problem was that I had no clue where to start. I went to the gym with my cousins a few times but didn’t know what I should do. I felt overwhelmed. I didn’t like working out in front of a lot of people and felt uncomfortable. When I started using Beachbody programs all the stress was gone. All I had to do was follow the schedule Beachbody made for me and just pop in a DVD. I could do it at home without anyone watching me. When it came to food, I would eat a lot of processed food and large portion sizes. I did eat vegetables and fruit, but they were not my main focus.

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
This last semester of college I was really frustrated. I was killing my workouts, but not seeing results. I lived on campus, so I knew it was the dining hall food. Right when I got home, I got 21 Day Fix because I knew it would teach me how to eat clean and portion out my food. This program has made me a meal prep master, and I no longer have to worry about cooking every day or falling off my plan. I also love that the workouts are only 30 mins. I’m a cashier so I’m on my feet all day. This used to make me want to procrastinate my workout depending on its length.

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
From starting with Hip Hop Abs and several programs later, the most recent 21 Day Fix, I’ve gone from a size 24 pants to a size 6 or 8 depending on the store. I now wear a medium shirt instead of 2x. Before, I would always wear hoodies. In high school, I would wear a hoodie almost every day. Now, I’m comfortable in a halter dress or tank tops. I love that you can see the muscles in my arms and shoulders. I can feel my hip bones, and I actually grew almost an inch.

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
Beachbody has changed my life in so many ways. A lot of people don’t recognize me if they haven’t seen me since high school. When I meet people now they say, “Wow look at the muscles in your arms!” or “You’re so healthy.” They do not believe me when I tell them how much weight I’ve lost. I have a new confidence that I never thought I could have. I’ve met so many people and friends through Beachbody. Healthy eating and fitness are a part of my life now, and I know I’ll never go back to my old habits.
