She entered The Beachbody Challenge in April 2015 and won $1,000!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
April 2013 – My self esteem was at an all time low. I moved from Indiana to North Carolina a little over a year ago with my fiance. I had a very physical job before I moved so I truly was in the best shape of my life. Upon moving I gained 30 lbs by having a desk job, which was very stressful and literally no movement for 10 hours a day. I kept up my workouts by going to the gym and participating in kickboxing classes, a little weight lifting and running outdoors. I just didn’t realize how badly my eating habits were until I joined Beachbody. No matter what I did I kept gaining weight and was at the heaviest I’d ever been. My clothes didn’t fit, I was embarrassed to even think about wearing shorts and was dreading summer. I would cry almost every day wondering what I’ve been doing wrong and how I can get back on track.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I met my Coach, Ryan Bates, at a mixer and we became instant friends. I started taking her INSANITY classes once a week but I still wasn’t losing weight. I had a meltdown one day and she invited me to come to her quarterly Coaches meeting. I was hooked. The women there were so inspiring and the products and programs were amazing. I realized I had been looking for a positive circle of people that I had been missing since I left California 4 years ago. I joined as a Coach, purchased the 21 Day Fix program (completed), did 10 Weeks of FOCUS T25, and now have completed 8 weeks of PiYo. I am blown away at my own results! It’s now been a year since I became a Beachbody Coach and completed my first program and thanks to the amazing fitness instructors and the 21 Day Fix meal plan, I can happily say I am still going strong!

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
The biggest challenge was my eating habits. I didn’t eat unhealthy core foods, but I was using heavy ingredients to supplement them and eating way too much. I started calculating my calorie intake and on the 21 Day Fix I was eating on average 800-1000 calories per day. I was eating 2200-2900 per day before that. I was shocked and horrified to say the least. I didn’t eat because I was hungry, I ate because it tasted good and it was there. The meal plan and portion control menus have truly changed how I look at food and what the true purpose is. I have not been hungry, light-headed, dizzy… anything and I eat almost 2000 calories less per day but still have a ton of energy. Beachbody rocks!

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
The amazing strength and agility I have worked up to. My endurance is crazy different than what it used to be. I completed my first Spartan Sprint this last weekend and that’s something I never thought I’d want to do let alone enjoy! It was awesome!

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
In 8 weeks with Insanity:Max 30, I only lost 4 lbs but I saw a definite increase in body definition, especially in my arms, shoulders and back. I didn’t follow my normal eating plan over the last couple months so maintaining my weight was my goal and I succeeded. I definitely gained more strength and cardio endurance. Shaun T’s programs are fantastic!

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
Beachbody was what I’ve been searching for. It isn’t a fad, it’s a lifestyle. I will be buried with my Shakeology shaker! No more roller coaster diets…no more looking back at photos wondering why I stopped doing the right things. This is me. Healthy, happy and looking forward to every new day. It’s an awesome feeling when your skinny jeans are now your fat pants!

How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
I created my own online Fit Club of 25 members (Beachbody and non Beachbody) to motivate, encourage and inspire others to get fit and stay fit! Being in a motivational group helps you stay on task but also provide positive feedback to others and thrive off their excitement and motivation. Being positive for yourself is first and foremost but being in a group of like-minded individuals is unstoppable.

How did your Team Beachbody® Coach support you on your journey?
I haven’t had any support from my Coach for some time outside of “liking” my posts. I have support from my fiance’ and other mutual fitness related friends and family. I am my own motivation…if I had no one else, I’d still do it for me.

How did a Beachbody Supplement or Nutritional Product or Program (such as Shakeology® or Beachbody Ultimate Reset®) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, digestion/regularity?
I definitely saw the change in my energy and digestion/regularity by incorporating Shakeology into my daily diet. It’s an amazing product and I find myself looking forward to it more than any other meal!

I don’t have any health issues, but just in the overall way it made me feel I can tell the ingredients are targeting the happy spots in my body because I am energetic and glowing!
