FOCUS T25 Results: This 52-Year-Old Lost 26 Pounds in Just 20 Weeks

Beverly Metzger-Noble lost 26 lbs. in 20 weeks with FOCUS T25. She entered her results into the Beachbody Challenge, and won the $500 Daily Prize for December 13th!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I have had a weight problem since the time I was 12, and knew I always had to work at it in order to keep it under control. I had lost the same 25-30 pounds many times in my life, including for my 50th birthday two years ago. Well, since then, I had given up on exercise and had been on a constant weight gain over the past two years. I was tired of having a muffin top over my pants, and even buying the next size up had proven to not work! I felt like I was nine months pregnant. In fact, I was at my same weight when I was nine months pregnant (19 years ago). My back had been aching, and I was restless at night. I lacked any energy in the evenings. Waking up tired, going to work, and coming home exhausted; I knew something had to change.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
Before I started my Beachbody journey, I had joined a gym for two months but with my full work schedule, I found it difficult to get there regularly. The classes were not motivating or at convenient times. My friend, who was a Beachbody Coach, shared on Facebook that she was having a Challenge. I asked her how it works, and she filled me in on Shakeology and the exercise programs available. I thought to myself, “This is just what I need: to work out on my own schedule and eat healthy, real foods.” She shared with me her weight-loss journey, and after checking out the programs, I decided to do it! I was so tired of the way I looked and felt, and was so excited to start my weight-loss journey! It was perfect timing.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
My greatest challenge was getting started with exercise again. I chose FOCUS T25 to begin my Challenge with, because the workouts seemed achievable for me and they were only 25 minutes long. That was the real selling and motivating feature for me. After many years of gym memberships or various walking and running programs, I was tired of working out for an hour or more to see any results. I discovered that I could exercise in the morning before my day began. This way, it was done first thing and I avoided any excuses at the end of the day. It worked wonderfully for me, even at my busiest of times at work and over Christmas holidays! This year on Jan. 1, I was weighing in with a loss instead of a hefty gain!

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I like that I can do my workout in 25 minutes, and get on with my day feeling that I’m already ahead of the game! I also liked the fact that I could start out not being able to do some of the moves, and progress and feel comfortable doing all of the moves in each of the discs. I, of course, loved the results I saw.

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
In the 50 days of working out with FOCUS T25, I was so proud when I saw that I lost almost 18 pounds (17.6 to be exact)! I noticed how the weight came off of my face in the beginning, making me feel great when I looked in the mirror. My endurance increased and I was feeling stronger, which made doing the program even better. I dropped almost three sizes in pants and got into a pair that I hadn’t worn in over two years! A few weeks after my first Challenge with FOCUS T25, I am down over 25 pounds now!


How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I definitely have more energy and confidence. I also have more concern for feeding my body good, clean foods to make it function better! I find that when I exercise with FOCUS T25, I feel stronger, both mentally and physically. Therefore, I can tackle challenges without hesitation.

How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
I found that doing the Challenges with Amber Nolan increased my awareness about what was going in my mouth, even before I ate it. In our Challenge Group, we had to list all of the foods we were going to eat for that day. We also had to report at the end of the day on whether we completed our exercise program, ate what we said we would, and drank all of our water. Since I did not want to answer “no” to any questions, I felt more committed each day to complete each goal and put a “yes” at the end of each day for all to see!

How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
Well, Amber kept a close check on us with the usual food, exercise, and water, but she also gave us mini-challenges within the Challenge. For example, one day it was to post a sweaty selfie picture after our program workout. Another day, we were to post an interesting recipe. On another day, we posted everything we ate with a picture of the food. I found the way Amber ran her Challenge really worked and kept me in the zone at all times! Even when I wasn’t in an actual Challenge Group, Amber checked in on me to see how I was doing. One time, my Shakeology didn’t come on time and she delivered to my house enough Shakeology to keep me going until my order arrived. She is so committed, and that keeps me committed.

How did a Beachbody supplement, nutritional product, or program (such as Shakeology or Beachbody Ultimate Reset) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, or digestion/regularity?
I love having Shakeology every morning! Drinking Shakeology made it really easy to decide what to have each morning, and there are so many delicious ways to enjoy it. I loved the fact that I have it after my workout while I’m getting ready for work. It fits easily into my busy schedule. I feel that having Shakeology each day really cut my cravings for unhealthy foods that aren’t on my program. It definitely helped me to reach my goals.
